My maternal grandmother Satenik (Oganian) Sarkis died when my father was 6 years old (1916) during childbirth. She is somewhat of a mystery, as I never heard her name mentioned by my parents.
The Greatest Generation. During WWII, my father worked on the top-secret "proximity fuse." FBI agents guarded U.S. scientists, actually nabbing a German spy posing as our family butcher!

In 1960 my grandparents celebrated their 50th golden wedding anniversary!
At age 12, my father traveled from Southampton to New York aboard the S.S. Olympic. The Olympic was sister ship to the Titanic.
